Veterans Consortium Pro Bono Program letter 2014

Some years back, I posted an announcement on my Free Continuing Legal Education website about free CLE through the Veterans Consortium Pro Bono Program. I then realized that I, myself, could take the course and felt some obligation to do so, to show at least to myself that I wasn't just talk.

It was interesting and, as promised, they provided me with a case to work. Well, I can't say that I was the most effective or efficient advocate, but I put in extra time to make up for what I had to learn, and eventually we prevailed - in large part because my client had a meritorious case plus the Program had done a thorough job of packaging up the relevant documentation. All I had to do, really, is match the evidence to the rules and never, ever miss a deadline.

I'd recommend this program to any lawyer. It's a rewarding experience to be able to do some unambiguous good, with excellent support from the Consortium.
