How Would You Blazon This?

Would this make a good house badge?
How would you describe it in heraldry?

  • Mark Carson suggested "Un chat dormant, gris vairé, armé" (reasoning "All cats are automatically armé").
  • Cýndi Mőncrief suggested Un chait en nautilus?
  • Google translated "curled up" as "Recroquevillé" or "En Boule"
  • I don't really know

When You Play The Game Of Math

I want 2 hooks for the Blue Room.
Should I get the Value Pack (2 for $6.89) at Target?
--
I posted this on FB and was pleased to see it did not have to be explained to my friends.
I understand about pricing to clear inventory but this just seemed egregious - or funny.

My Trees May Bloom!

I love my blooming trees!
They require some care. It is necessary to trim them to avoid growing into traffic, and the evergreen is having difficulties from multiple trunking or something.
But they are so very much worth caring for.

Lunch With Pat And Julie

My old SCA/college buddies Pat Odum McGregor and Julie Greminger Reed had lunch at BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse in Redmond. I forgot to get a photo but I ran back to get a selfie - We'll have to Photoshop Julie Greminger Reed in haha!

Can you see Mt. Baker?

It's behind the Space Needle!
--
Parking at the Y has usually been difficult because it's so popular, but the situation has gotten worse due to neccesary road construction. This time, I took the turn off a block early to avoid traffic, and found a spot a couple of blocks away. It was a very pleasant walk with great views and what the heck - I was there to exercise anyway, right?

Yet Another Reason To Love Public Libraries

My first public library was the Bookmobile which parked at Midland Gardens store half a mile away. They let me get books I like for free! It was wonderful.
When I lived in Springfield I would check out a framed picture every month to hang in my cubicle at work.
Here in West Seattle I have been checking out DVDs so I can catch last year's top movies or back episodes of "Game of Thrones".
Job hunting at library computers is much more effective at home because the presence of others - dozens of fellow library computer users, all busy doing our thing - helps me stay on task.
I have been a fan of public libraries for about 55 years (so far) but today I discovered a new reason.
The sign on the right was found by an internet friend posted inside the bathroom door.
Can you imagine how useful this would be to people?

Dream Solution To Feral Cat Problem

There are a lot of cats in my life, and in the lives of my extended family. A while back, my sister Ellen told me about a program to deal with feral cats by capturing them, spay/neutering them, and then releasing them back to their homes, where they could be fed but would not be adding to the feral population. It seemed like a humane solution. I don't know why I was dreaming about finding a sawdust-covered momma cat in my shed but I felt compassion for her and her fuzzy black kittens, and came up with a solution, so it's all good.

It's an old joke but it fits.

Arthur inspects The Green Room

Arthur inspects The Green Room, which I cleared out for an incoming renter. It might be strange to him the way furnishings appear and disappear
