Time Bank Hauling Boxes
I did my first hour of helping a fellow community member through the West Seattle Timebank ( https://westseattle.timebanks.org/ ). How a timebank works is that you "bank" hours by helping out people with personal projects, and when you need help you post requests for help that you "pay for" with banked hours. The gig was helping person with bad knees move boxes from her basement to a covered area outside where she was going to sort the treasures of years for hold a yard sale. This is the sort of favor you'd do for any neighbor, except it's hard to meet neighbors these days as we spend most of our time with family or work. Going through a Time Bank expands our potential circle of neighbors. When we were done, there were 3 boxes of books that she'd pre-sorted as 'donate' so I drove them over to the VA Hospital for their lobby library. Everybody wins!

July 4th Picnic at Veterans' Hospital
Three of the 25 volunteers who served an Independence Day meal to in patients and staff at VA Puget Sound Health Care System today. Of course we can't show pictures of patients! The food was donated by generous local businesses and the volunteers were mostly from DAV Chapter 23 - West Seattle, Paradise of Praise Church, union members who came in on their day off, and the lead organization Veterans And Friends Of Puget Sound. Hundreds were fed!

Berries Are Coming!
Berry bushes can be annoying, because they are invasive and thorny, but they have beautiful flowers and wonderful berries.
There's a life lesson there.
Arthur Always Has His Pillow
Arthur does not necessarily curl up as easily as younger cats with fewer back problems, but he always has his foot pillow with him!
